17 King American Bistro recently celebrated their grand opening on Friday, May 1. The updates are described as a marriage of food, wine, music and ambiance. 17 King American Bistro is designed to be an immersive and memorable dining experience.
Their brunch menu features a mix of unique and fun classic favorites including croissant sandwiches, Southern-style chicken & waffles, pesto chicken and pork belly with datil honey sandwiches. Their dinner menu will include polished-yet-approachable dishes such as grilled shrimp polenta, seared scallops with lemon risotto and duck pappardelle cooked by accomplished Chef Landry Wyatt.
The restaurant includes a wine library at the centerpiece of the space and a full bar with a unique cocktail menu and a full performance schedule featuring talented local musicians.
“We want guests to feel immediately welcomed by the warm atmosphere that we have created,” owner Gary McGeddy said. “The lighting and vibe match the wine and the menu, which makes it perfect for any occasion.”
McGeddy said that at 17 King, they focus on great service, great food and great beverages. His favorite part of opening 17 King has been menu creation and testing. He also enjoys getting to pair each dish with wine to make them even more delectable.
“I love getting to work with the kitchen and bar to craft the customer experience,” he said.
17 King will also be offering bespoke event packages. They are located in the plaza and offer private dining, semi-private dining and restaurant buyouts. Their menu changes seasonally and is customizable to suit any event.
“If you want to eat great food, drink amazing wine and cocktails and listen to local musicians, this is your place,” McGeddy said.
17 King American Bistro is located at 17 King St. in St. Augustine. The hours are from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday-Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
