The Florida Forum Speaker Series, produced by the Women's Board of Wolfson Children's Hospital, will welcome baseball executive Theo Epstein Jan. 16, 2018 at the Times-Union Center for the Performing Arts at 7 p.m.

Epstein, the president of baseball operations for the Chicago Cubs, is credited as the mastermind behind the Chicago Cubs. In 2016, he took the team from last place in the National League Central and led the Chicago Cubs to their first World Series title in 108 years after five years of rebuilding. Previously, Epstein was the general manager of the Boston Red Sox, the youngest GM in Major League Baseball history. The ex-Cubs president led the Red Sox to World Series victories in 2004, their first in 86 years - and again in 2007. Epstein and his twin brother Paul have raised $7.3 million dollars through a foundation to help disadvantaged youth in Boston and Chicago.

The 2017-2018 series concludes March 5, 2018 with Ambassador Caroline Kennedy. Distinguished journalist Tom Brokaw opened the series in November.
