Winn Win Twinns, Budweiser Clydesdales to visit new Winn-Dixie store

A new Winn-Dixie store has opened in St. Johns County, and a celebration will run throughout the weekend with activities, special appearances and giveaways.

The new store is located in the Grand Cypress Marketplace, 100 Little Cypress Drive. Grand Cypress is a new development and may not appear on all navigation apps, so it’s useful to know how to find the store the old-fashioned way.

It’s at the southwestern corner of Race Track Road and Philips Highway. Simply take the Nocatee Parkway west until you cross U.S. 1.

From 2 to 7 p.m. today (Friday, Dec. 16), DJs will be on hand to provide music and there will be giveaways and samplings.

On Friday, the first 100 customers to arrive at the store at 7 a.m. will receive a mystery gift card valued at between $5 and $500. Then, from 5 to 7 p.m., two of the world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales will visit, and customers will have opportunities to take photos.

The fun continues Saturday, Dec. 17, when the store hosts a community celebration from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. From noon to 2 p.m. there will be a special appearance by the Winn Win Twinns who you’ve seen featured in Winn-Dixie commercials.

In addition, customers will have a chance to enjoy interactive family games, cooking demonstrations and store samplings. Entertainment will be provided by the Party Ball Band and DJ EL. There will also be free raffle giveaways for $100 gift cards every 30 minutes. Free big prize drawings begin at 1 p.m. where customers will have a chance to win a Webber Grill, a smoker, two Yeti coolers and chef meal kits.

The celebration continues from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18, with DJ entertainment and additional giveaways.

Customers must be present to win prizes.

The store is open seven days a week. Hours are 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. The new liquor store is open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 1-8 p.m. Sunday.
