Cherie Katin moved into the Villages of Seloy just as spring was breaking this year in Northern Florida.
Over a number of months, she made the move from Jacksonville to her new home in the 55+ planned community in the St. Augustine area.
“I simply love the area,” Katin said, noting the proximity to the outlet malls just two-and-a-half miles away, and the beach just a little bit further.
Katin found that getting into her new place was easy with the help and support of management, sales teams and others.
“They were very helpful,” Katin said of the Villages of Seloy staff. “I've just been so impressed with what they've done — everything went smoothly.”
Describing what she called a “seamless” experience, Katin mentioned working with the title company, Landmark Title, and how easy it was to get the details in place.
“That (purchasing process) was a very nice experience also,” she said.
Another factor she appreciated was receiving a binder with contacts for utilities and other needed information. This, she said, made the move-in easier.
Since moving in, Katin has been enjoying the open floor plan of her one level “Vilano” condo, which is 2,230 square feet, and the ease of pulling into the double car garage.
“You can just drive in,” she said. “It's a wonderful property.”
She also likes the one-level design that is standard in the units, because it makes it easier to get around the home, especially long-term.
“I can do steps now, but in the future, who knows?” Katin said.
As she gets acclimated to the Villages of Seloy, Katin has also been active in meeting neighbors at a recent block party and taking aquatic exercise classes.
“I've enjoyed it immensely,” she said, describing meeting neighbors in a fun, relaxed environment, and exercising on-site. Her grandkids, she said, also like to come and visit.
As for the construction going on to build out the Villages of Seloy to accommodate new residents, Katin said the Villages of Seloy team is trying as hard as they can to make it a non-intrusive experience.
“They're doing what they have to do to continue to build,” she said. “It's not a big deal.”
