Tunnel to Towers director is Newcomers Alumnae speaker

Posted

Patty Trousdell, volunteer event director for the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, was the guest speaker May 4 at the monthly Newcomers Alumnae luncheon held at Marsh Landing Country Club, Ponte Vedra Beach.

The mission of the Tunnel to Towers Foundation is to honor the sacrifice of firefighter Stephen Siller, who laid down his life to save others on Sept. 11, 2001. The foundation also honors our military and first responders who continue to risk life and limb for our country.

In addition to the many programs the foundation offers, it has committed more than $150 million in support of the nation’s heroes and their families.

On Sept. 11, a 5K Run and Walk will be held at the World Golf Village. It will serve as an opportunity to bring the community together to honor first responders and military service members. The event raises funds to support the Building for America’s Bravest program that builds smart homes for the most catastrophically injured service members returning home.
