As of 5 a.m. Monday, Sept. 11, Hurricane Lee was located at 23.1 N 62.6 W and was moving northwest at 7 mph. Its maximum sustained winds were 120 mph, reducing its classification to a category 3.
Lee is expected to make a sharp turn to the north Wednesday and not expected to make landfall in Florida.
Dangerous surf and rip currents are expected along the Atlantic coast this week, however.
