THE PLAYERS Championship kicked off tournament week at TPC Sawgrass with the 11th annual DONNA Foundation 5K on Saturday, May 5, to raise money for breast cancer research at Mayo Clinic and care for those living with the disease. The 5K series has raised nearly $400,0000 for the foundation to date.

Hundreds of runners and walkers of all levels participated in the 5K, which went through the back nine of THE PLAYERS Stadium Course. Following the race, participants and spectators gathered at The Grove for a post-race celebration and awards ceremony.

Christian Skaret from Jacksonville finished in first place among males with a 17:24 chip time. Cameron Klug of Merritt Island clocked in a second-place finish, and Ponte Vedra native Tyler Lehman finished in third.

Julie Stackhouse, who finished first among females in her DONNA 5K debut with a 18:35 chip time, said in an interview with attending media that breast cancer has impacted her life.

"My mom was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer the week of the DONNA half-marathon this year," Stackhouse said. "There's never a day that you don't wake up that you're dealing with a loved one having cancer."

Kali Miller finished in second place and Stackhouse's sister Jessie came in third.
