David Weekley Homes hosted its fourth annual companywide CA+RE School Supplies Drive in 17 cities across the country.

In Jacksonville, school supplies were collected for Investing in Kids (INK), which leads efforts to directly benefit the educators and students in St. Johns County School District with programs and events that strive to provide the tools and resources necessary to help each child reach their full potential.

“We are honored that David Weekley Homes chose Investing in Kids (INK) to impact students and teachers in the St. Johns County School District,” said Donna Lueders, executive director with Investing in Kids. “Your support means students will have the needed learning tools and a lessened financial burden to teachers and the children in St. Johns County to be academically successful.”

Approximately $6,000 in supplies were collected from homeowners, real estate agents and business partners during the drive, providing more than 10,000 pieces of supplies needed for the school year to 500 students. In addition, the Weekley Family Foundation donated $1,200 to use toward classroom supplies and storage.

The School Supplies Drive is a volunteer and philanthropic initiative of the company’s CARE program, which joins team members with homeowners, homebuyers, community partners and local nonprofit organizations to live out its purpose of "Building Dreams, Enhancing Lives" in each of the communities in which it builds.
