St. Johns County offering ‘tree-cycling’ for Christmas trees

Posted

St. Johns County is hosting a Christmas “tree-cycling” program for those who wish to recycle Christmas trees after the holidays.

Residents are encouraged to bring Christmas trees between 10 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 5 and 6 to any of the following locations:

• Ron Parker Park (near the dog park) – 607 Old Beach Road, St. Augustine

• Cornerstone Park – 1046 A1A North, Ponte Vedra

• St. Johns County Fairgrounds – 5840 State Road 207, Elkton

Artificial trees will not be accepted as only natural trees can be recycled. Trees should be free of decorations and debris. The trees will be mulched and utilized to beautify St. Johns County parks. Staff will be available to assist residents with trees.
