St. Johns County hosts inaugural Adoption Day Ceremony

Newly adopted children gather with their new families and St. Johns County staff at the county’s inaugural Adoption Day Ceremony at the County Courthouse on Friday, Nov. 2. Held in conjunction with National Adoption Awareness Month, the event celebrated the adoptions of eight children by six local families. St. Johns County is still in need of more adoptive and foster care families, with more than 190 children currently in out-of-home care throughout the county.
