Members of the St. Johns County Bahá'í Community will celebrate the "Festivals of the Twin Holy Birthdays" on Friday, Nov. 9 and Saturday, Nov. 10 to recognize the births of two central figures of the Bahá'í faith.

The two successive holy days are the birth of the Báb — the Prophet-Herald of the Bahá'í faith, on the first day of Muharram in the Islamic calendar (20 October 1819) — and the birth of Bahá'u'lláh, the prophet-founder of the religion, on the second day of Muharram (two years prior, on 12 November 1817).

The commemoration will begin on Friday morning from 9 a.m. to noon with family activities including painting rocks for the Bahá'í Rock Garden. Lunch will be served. There will be a devotional program and music at 7 p.m., and dessert will be served. On Saturday at 7 p.m., a devotional program will be held followed by music and dinner. All events will be held at the Northeast Florida Regional Bahá'í Center at 5034 Greenland Road in Jacksonville. The public is welcome to attend; no donations will be accepted.

Information and directions are available by calling Holly Nadji at (904) 994-9799.
