St. Johns River State College recently announced its new Practical Nursing program for students interested in becoming licensed practical nurses. Approved by the Florida Board of Nursing, the year-long vocational certificate program includes 1,350 hours of nursing coursework. Classes begin on the Palatka campus in January 2018 with clinicals scheduled at facilities within the tri-county area.

Upon successful completion of the program, graduates are eligible to apply for the State Board Examination for Licensed Practical Nursing. The program also articulates into SJR State’s Associate in Science and Bachelor of Science degree programs for Nursing.
