Because some things are simply more appreciated with age, Silver Creek in St. Augustine is hosting free Antiques & Heirlooms events on Thursday, May 17, at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Registered attendees may bring a treasure for expert evaluation by Gary Piattoni, an appraiser on PBS’ “Antiques Roadshow;” a contributor to New York magazine, Town & Country and Chicago magazine; and a former specialist with Christie’s fine art auction house in New York. Piattoni will tell the story of each item’s history and determine its potential market value, just as he has on “Antiques Roadshow” for the past 20 years.
To attend the free event, a reservation is required as space is limited. Interested parties should call (904) 810-0444. Firearms, jewelry, stamps and coins cannot be appraised at the event, and there is a limit of one item for appraisal per attendee. Silver Creek is located off Highway 207 at 165 Silver Lane in St. Augustine.
