Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort & Spa to host Thanksgiving holiday feast

The Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort & Spa has plenty to be thankful for after celebrating its 30th anniversary of welcoming families, friends, travelers and neighbors.

This Thanksgiving, guests are welcome at the resort for a holiday feast at its signature restaurant, Vernon’s. Chefs at the resort have crafted a menu of traditional holiday favorites with flavors of the season and house-made specialties featuring seafood selections, carving stations, antipasti platters and a wide variety of sides and desserts. Special ingredients have also been plucked straight from the resort’s bountiful on-site gardens and apiary.

The menu includes:

From the harbor

■ Freshly shucked oysters, spicy boiled shrimp, crab claws

■ Sherry Mignonette, cocktail sauce, lemon and lime wedges, tabasco, drawn butter

Antipasta

■ Manchego cheese, applewood smoked cheddar, parmesan prosciutto, salami, capicola-pickled vegetables, datil peach marmalade

Soups and salads

■ Sweet corn and tasso ham chowder

■ Butternut squash bisque and spike datil crema

■ Autumn harvest of salads

Carving stations

■ Black-pepper honey-glazed turkey with giblet gravy

■ Smoked prime rib with pinot au jus and horseradish crème

■ Citrus-seared corvina with asti butter sauce

■ Sourdough herb stuffing

■ Smoked bacon-roasted green beans

■ Season’s best root vegetables

■ Roasted garlic salt-and-pepper mashed potatoes

■ Maple bourbon-glazed sweet potato

■ Au gratin butternut squash ravioli with herb butter sauce

 The Thanksgiving buffet will be held Nov. 23 from 12:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. in Vernon’s, located at the Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort & Spa at 1000 PGA Tour Blvd. in Ponte Vedra Beach. Prices are $65 for adults and $24 for children under 12 (excludes tax and gratuity).
