The winner of a record-breaking Mega Millions jackpot purchased the ticket in Neptune Beach.

A single ticket matching all six numbers plus the Mega Ball won the estimated $1.58 billion jackpot in the Tuesday, Aug. 8, drawing. The winner has the option of taking the winnings in 30 annual installments. However, if taken as a lump-sum cash payment, it would be $783.3 million.

The winning numbers were: 13-19-20-32-33 and the Mega Ball was 14.

The Quick Pick ticket that won the jackpot was purchased at 630 Atlantic Blvd. in Neptune Beach. The retailer will receive a $100,000 bonus commission for selling the winning ticket.

The winner will have 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim the prize. However, if the winner chooses to go with the one-time, lump-sum payment, the claim must be filed within 60 days from the date of the drawing.

This marks the fourth time a jackpot-winning Mega Millions ticket has been sold in Florida, with two prior wins being shared with winners in other states.

The previous record was set in October 2018 in South Carolina when the winning jackpot totaled $1.537 billion.

Aside from the jackpot win, 7 million winning tickets were sold over all prize levels. Two, sold in Florida (sold at a Kwik Stop in Hollywood) and North Carolina, are worth $2 million.

There were 31 Mega Millions drawings before the jackpot was won. This produced 43.7 million winning tickets across all prize levels, including 69 second-tier prizes of $1 million or more.

The next Mega Millions drawing will take place on Friday, Aug. 11. The jackpot will reset to $20 million, or $9.9 million cash.
