Ponte Vedra High School students recently learned about the dangers of driving distracted with AT&T's "It Can Wait" virtual reality simulator.
AT&T research found that 7-in-10 people engage in smartphone activities while driving. The virtual reality simulator, which is part of the "It Can Wait" campaign, is designed to teach drivers that they must keep their eyes on the road rather than their cell phones to drive safely.
At the event, students used virtual reality goggles to view a 3D VR driving experience with real-life distractions. The experience revealed the dangers of driving while fixated on other things. Following the VR simulation, students pledged to never engage in inattentive driving.
