Ponte Vedra Beach resident and Espero BioPharma CEO Quang Pham was named the EY 2018 Entrepreneur of the Year Florida in the Emerging category last week.

Pham was one of 11 award recipients in different categories selected by an independent judging panel consisting of previous winners of the award, leading CEOs, private capital investors and other regional business leaders. The recipients were unveiled at a special gala on June 7 at the Lowes Sapphire Resort in Orlando.

“I’m honored and humbled to receive this award,” said Pham to the Recorder via email. “It’s a great recognition for Espero for all of our efforts. It’s also wonderful to be recognized as a Jacksonville company.”

The EY awards program recognizes entrepreneurs who are excelling in areas such as innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities. Now in its 32nd year, the program has expanded to recognize business leaders in more than 145 cities and more than 60 countries throughout the world.

Pham is a biopharmaceutical entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience in founding, financing and growing companies. Prior to founding Espero, an emerging cardiovascular biopharmaceutical company, he started Lathian Systems, a company that provided online data and marketing services to pharmaceutical and biotech companies.
