Florida Chamber Music Project (FCMP) will perform pieces by Joseph Haydn and Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20, at the Beaches Museum Chapel, which is part of the Beaches Museum at 505 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville Beach.
A new flex pass ticket option is available for this 10th season of performances, allowing attendees to save money and choose their concerts.
“Haydn’s String Quartet Op. 76, No. 6 and Tchaikovsky’s String Quartet No. 1 in D Major, Op. 11, the pieces on this program, are contrasting pieces from master composers,” said Susan Pardue, FCMP artistic director. “For me at least, the quartet by Haydn, known as the ‘father of the string quartet’ follows established traditions of the string quartet less than the one by Tchaikovsky, written 73 years later. This is a fun example of Haydn’s sense of humor at work. Both pieces are exciting, and the contrast between the two pieces gives lots of different sounds and moods.”
Season passes for FCMP concerts are now available at a prorated price of $125 for the five remaining concerts. FCMP is also now offering a three-concert "flex pass" option. With the purchase of a $75 flex pass, attendees get three concerts for $75 and can choose which of the five remaining concerts to attend. Both of these options allow a savings over the single ticket price of $27. Tickets to this concert will also be available at the door.
Concert attendees are invited to meet the musicians and enjoy light refreshments after the performance.
Beaches Museum Chapel is wheelchair-accessible and has free parking along Pablo Avenue near 4th Street North of Beach Boulevard.
The Florida Chamber Music Project was founded 10 years ago by violist Susan Pardue. Joining her are violinists Patrice Evans, Siyu Zhang and Ann Hertler and cellist Laurie Casseday. All are members of the Jacksonville Symphony.
