Palm Valley Boat Parade tradition continues despite challenging weather

A stormy day on Saturday didn’t stop the Palm Valley Boat Parade from being held once again this year.

The annual holiday tradition, held on Dec. 1, featured 17 boats this year festively decorated for the season. An additional nine boats registered, but the weather did unfortunately prevent them participating. The parade began just south of the Palm Valley Bridge and traveled north through the Palm Valley cut to the end of Marsh Landing.

The winner of the parade will be announced at the awards dinner Jan. 12 at 4 p.m. at the America Legion in Palm Valley. For more information on the Palm Valley Boat Parade, visit http://palmvalleyboatparade.com/.
