Palencia Dental launches new, advanced dental approach to treating TMD, TMJ and sleep disorders with BEMER

Stephanie Kinsey, DDS, owner and founder of Palencia Dental in St. Augustine, has launched a new, advanced approach for treating temporomandibular disorder (TMD), temporomandibular joint (TMJ) syndrome and sleep disorders, among others.

With the BEMER, Kinsey and her staff can further provide patients with the best possible benefits for the disorders, which can develop slowly over time due to postural issues and misaligned teeth and jaws along with jaw injuries and damage. The disorders can lead to sleep issues, pain, teeth grinding, stress, and arthritis, to name a few.

According to Kinsey, the FDA-approved technology is currently used by elite athletes and in thousands of hospitals and clinics in tandem with other traditional medical services, and also in veterinary care. NASA has signed a joint collaboration agreement with BEMER to pursue applications in space. The breakthrough technology can now be utilized by dental patients in the doctor’s office and at home or business. The system can improve symptoms in approximately 16 minutes with targeted applications that boost the blood flow, benefit the body’s cardiac system with regenerative abilities, and improved mental acuity and well-being.

Kinsey manages a variety of signaling devices and applicators using a patented electronic signal to improve blood flow in the smallest vessels of the body. This delivers benefits to patients, including significant improvements in TMD and TMJ, and sleep management.

“We are very excited to utilize the technology in our practice with additional modalities to improve overall, whole body nutrition and oxygen supply to cells, cardiac function, elimination of toxins and increase physical fitness and endurance,” said Kinsey.            Kinsey also said the technology can help to improve and increase concentration, add to muscle stimulation and promote stress reduction and relaxation.

Specifically, BEMER is an acronym for Bio-Electro-Magnetic-Energy- Regulation Mat and uses PEMF (pulsed electromagnetic field) as a vehicle to deliver a specific pulsed therapy that increases circulation in the small blood vessels, which make up about 75 percent of the circulatory system. According to BEMER, an increase in circulation to the cells while using the device helps to better carry nutrients, red and white blood cells and oxygen which is fundamental to health. Also, waste from normal cellular function and chemical exposure is more efficiently removed. The body can function more optimally, build stronger tissue and more effectively heal itself.

“The technology has been used for more than 15 years in more than 4,000 hospitals and clinics in Europe,” said Dr. Kinsey. “There are many PEMF medical devices, but BEMER has been shown to be one of the most effective delivery systems on the market, based on our research and patient recovery.”

Kinsey has been practicing dentistry for more than 20 years. Her St. Augustine dentistry practice is dedicated to restoring and enhancing the natural beauty of one’s smile combining conservative and state-of-the-art procedures along with advanced dental medicine. She is a Fellow with The International Association of Physiologic Aesthetics (IAPA) and serves as a member and Fellow with IAPA’s founding organization, the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies (LVI).
