Palencia Dental donates to Palencia Women's Golf Association fundraiser and the Woman’s Exchange of St. Augustine

Stephanie Kinsey, DDS, owner and founder of Palencia Dental in St. Augustine, recently served as a sponsor for Palencia Women's Golf Association and the annual member guest Coquina Classic golf tournament at The Palencia Club Nov. 2-3.

Dr. Kinsey donated to the fundraiser as a hole sponsor for $200 to help support the Woman’s Exchange of St. Augustine and the organization’s scholarship program, which assists women with funding as they retool their skills for the workplace. Throughout the year, Kinsey and the Women’s Golf Association participate in a variety of activities that help women and families in need through the Exchange.

Founded in 1892, the Woman’s Exchange of St. Augustine is a non-profit organization and part of the National Federation of Woman’s Exchanges. Federation members follow in the footsteps of women in the 19th century who began Woman’s Exchanges to help other women who had fallen on hard times. As members, women discretely place their handmade items and home-cooked food in Exchanges for those in need. Some of the original Woman’s Exchanges are still in business today and are members of the Federation, including the historic Peña-Peck House, one of St. Augustine’s historic downtown properties.

Kinsey played in the recent golf tournament to support her mission to give back to the community along with year-round activities to help individuals and families in St. Johns County, and beyond.

Palencia Dental announces 4th annual Filling the Gap fundraising event

Kinsey, along with support from patients, sponsors, friends and family, will hold the fourth annual “Filling the Gap” fundraising event on Saturday, March 2, 2019 from 7 to 10 p.m. at The Carriage House (formerly) Pioneer Barn at Old Florida Museum at 259 San Marco Ave. in St. Augustine.

The event cost is $75 per person in advance and $100 per person at the door and includes drinks, hors d’oeuvres and a silent auction. Corporate and private sponsorships are available along with a request for silent auction items. Donations and sponsorships are tax deductible on behalf of Filling the Gap, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

This year’s party will feature live music by Hit Parade, a high-energy dance band. The fundraising efforts will benefit the ALS Association (Lou Gehrig’s disease) and Wildflower Healthcare, which provides free medical and dental care to needy individuals and families in St. Johns County. Last year, Filling the Gap helped to fund the nonprofits with more than $20,000 in donations. In 2019, the goal is to raise more than $35,000, with all proceeds donated to the charities.

Kinsey is an American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine (AADSM) Qualified Dentist and has been practicing dentistry for more than 20 years. Her St. Augustine, northwest St. Johns County dentistry practice is dedicated to restoring and enhancing the natural beauty of one’s smile combining conservative and state-of-the-art procedures along with advanced dental medicine.
