St. Johns County is hosting an open house regarding the planned improvement project for the Kings Estate Road Corridor from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 20, at Lighthouse Church of God, 1230 Kings Estate Road, St. Augustine.
Improvements are proposed throughout the entire corridor from State Road 207 to Old Moultrie Road. Due to its length and expected construction costs, the project has been divided into five phases.
Phase 1 begins at State Road 207, includes Hilltop Road, and ends at St. Augustine Boulevard. Phase 1 is projected to begin construction in spring 2025 with a budget of $5 million funded through impact fees. Throughout all phases, improvements will include travel lanes at 12 feet in width, five-foot paved shoulders, two-foot-wide curb and gutters, sidewalks on both sides of the roadway and stormwater drainage.
St. Johns County Public Works staff will be available at the open house to answer questions and share details about this future asset to our community.
