Lucia Miller is the tourism coordinator for the St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce Ponte Vedra Beach Division.

Can you please tell us about your background?

I moved to the Unites States from Slovakia with my family in 1997. I have lived here in Jacksonville ever since. I attended Fletcher Middle and Fletcher High School and received a bachelor’s degree in communications from UNF. I started working for the Chamber right after and have been here for six years.

What’s a typical day like for you at the Chamber?

The Chamber of Commerce is an excellent resource for networking opportunities. A majority of my time is devoted to performing administrative duties and planning the networking events. I work closely with the communications manager to maintain the Chamber’s website, social media and newsletters. I am also tasked with assisting the Ponte Vedra Auto Show, which is one of the Chamber’s biggest events of the year in the Ponte Vedra community. Lastly, what a lot of people may not know is that our Ponte Vedra Beach Division office is also a Visitor’s Center. We offer a lot of information for visitors and those who relocate to our area. My job is to make sure that the visitor has a pleasant experience in Ponte Vedra.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

Working at the Chamber gives me the opportunity to learn more about people in this community. Through numerous networking events, I meet many people and build great relationships. I also enjoy seeing new business grow and succeed.

What do you enjoy most about living on the First Coast?

A warm, sunny climate is one of many reasons I enjoy the First Coast. This northeast beach community has a strong connection to nature and to the coast as well, with many parks providing walking, biking trails, dog walking and beach access. I love the small-town feel! You can hop on a beach cruiser and ride down to the beach with the family. Also, the Beaches has a great family-friendly ambiance.

What do you like to do in your free time?

I love to travel with my husband Max and explore different parts of the world and their culture. I love to be outdoors! I also enjoy photography and capturing special moments of my family and friends and mostly our 7-month-old son Brody. I love watching him grow.
