Lawson Ensemble to perform

The Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Library will present the Lawson Ensemble at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15, at the library. Doors open at 6 p.m. The Lawson Ensemble was formed in 2015 as a result of the group members’ desire to consistently perform chamber music at a level of excellence and commitment to share with the community. Founding members are violinist Aurica Duca, violinist/violist Clinton Dewing and cellist Nick Curry. Duca and Dewing are husband and wife and are both fulltime members of the Jacksonville Symphony. Curry is the associate professor of cello studies at UNF, where he teaches.

Author to appear at Neptune Beach shop

Virginia Hartman, author of “The Marsh Queen” (Gallery Books), will appear at The BookMark in Neptune Beach at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12.

A native of Florida, Hartman now lives just outside Washington, D.C. A behind-the-scenes tour of the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History helped her capture the characters and creatures readers meet in the book’s pages.

The novel follows artist Loni Mae Murrow, who finds a cryptic note among her mother’s things that raises questions about her father’s death.
