The First Coast Essential Tremor support group will meet at 11 a.m. June 6 at Baptist Healthplace at Nocatee, No. 130. The speaker, Moses Taylor, will discuss Cala Trio, an FDA-cleared safe, effective and individually calibrated device resembling a wristwatch, which is designed to treat the symptoms of essential tremor. Church’s rummage sale is this weekend
The annual Rummage for Riches sale at Lord of Life Lutheran Church will take place from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 20. This event fills the small church with hundreds of items categorized into different “departments,” including kitchen, bath, home décor, furniture, clothing, jewelry, books/CDs, sports/outdoor/gardening, pets and more.
The public can also support this event by donating and dropping off gently used items in good condition inside the front entrance of the church until May 18.
Items that have come in (and will be for sale) include such things as a wall unit, bar stools, lamps, a glass-topped side table, a kitchen table with chairs, cut-glass bowls, luggage and designer-named clothes and accessories from Michael Kors and Vera Bradley.

Mega Open House Weekend is May 20-21

In Northeast Florida, new listings, active inventory and home prices are up, according to the Northeast Florida Association of Realtors’ March market report. New listings rose 32.5% while the median home price increased 0.7% from February. While inventory increased more than 6%, there is only a 2.2-months’ supply of homes. With home prices increasing and a low supply, many sellers are putting their homes on the market.
The Mega Open House Weekend features viewings of the company’s listings of available homes. The listings encompass homes in a wide range of prices, styles and neighborhoods throughout Northeast Florida. Along with the in-person open houses, the Mega Open House event features virtual open houses on social media.

Hugs St. Johns seeks volunteers for key positions
The Hugs St. Johns all-volunteer team is looking ahead to the 2023-24 school year and is seeking volunteers for the following positions:
Clothing program co-leader: Receive and review referrals from school counselors, manage volunteer clothing packers, oversee incoming donations, keep the warehouse looking beautiful and help provide much-needed clothing to more than 600 local kids.
Food program co-leader: Shop for food items as needed, work with volunteers to sort and distribute to school-based pantries once a month and help provide much-needed food to more than 1,000 local kids every month.
Girls program co-leader: Help research potential guest speakers, coordinate monthly lunch-and-learn programs at Murray Middle and Gamble Rogers Middle, and help provide a much-appreciated program for girls considered at risk that teaches them life skills and an important sense of belonging.
Board members: Join the Board of Directors and bring your skills in marketing, fundraising, partnership-building and grant-writing to this team.
