NOTE: This article has been updated with the latest date change.

A fresh date and location have been determined for the Ponte Vedra/Palm Valley Architectural Review Committee meeting pertaining to the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club’s plan for development and renovations.

The meeting will now take place Sept. 6 at the Sawgrass Marriott beginning at 5 p.m.

The rescheduling was prompted after it was realized that the Ponte Vedra Public Library was too small of a venue for the crowd that showed up for the July 26 meeting.

The Sawgrass Marriott is expected to be a sufficient space to house those residents that show up as opposed to the line of people that weaved through the library and into its parking lot resulting in the cancellation of the first attempt.

However, this was not the only change that St. Johns County officials made, as they also changed the dates of the other three committees and boards that the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club must present to as part of the approval process.

By moving to Sept. 6, the Ponte Vedra/Palm Valley Architectural Review Committee will now the  first of the boards in the review process.

The Ponte Vedra Zoning & Adjustment Board will have its meeting five days later on Sept. 11 at the county auditorium with an 11 a.m. meeting start time and the item slated to begin being talked about at 1 p.m., according to the county.

The St. Johns County Planning & Zoning Agency board will take up the issue at 11 a.m. Sept. 21 in the St. Johns County Auditorium.

The final step in the process will be at the board of county commissioners’ Nov. 7 meeting which will take place at the county auditorium but a time for which has yet to be set by the county.

Once all is completed, the review process will have taken a little less than three months to complete with the commission expected to decide the plan’s future during the Nov. 7 meeting.

The rescheduling of the July 26 meeting caused a chain reaction with the other dates and as a result it will be November before a final decision is made instead of the initial schedule which had the Commission being presented it during its Sept. 19 meeting.
