Rise, a new 55-plus active living community in Nocatee, is progressing toward completion. The first building is projected to become available around May 1.

Already, prospective residents are looking into it. About 10% of the apartments are pre-leased, according to General Manager Jerry Shafer. Currently, Rise is offering six weeks of free rent at move-in with a signed lease for 12 to 15 months. The community will be located just one mile from Nocatee Town Center.

When completed, Rise will have 178 apartment homes divided between two buildings. The first will be four levels, the second five. Both buildings will have elevators.

A nearly 10,000-square-foot clubhouse is under construction now and is expected to be complete at the end of February. It will house onsite offices, a yoga room, a 24-hour fitness room, a kitchen, a media and music lounge, a creative arts workshop, a game room and more.

For anyone interested in making a visit to see the site, hard-hat tours are being offered 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. Guests must wear close-toed shoes.

Prospective future residents, whether Gen Xers, Boomers or Seniors, who want to learn more may visit the Rise table at the Active After 50 Expo, which will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, at the St. Johns County Convention Center, 500 S. Legacy Trail, St. Augustine.
