Nease NJROTC cadets tended the 18th pin at THE PLAYERS Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass during the final round of the American Junior Golf Association Junior PLAYERS Championship over Labor Day weekend.

After completing the No. 18 hole, the junior golfers, among the best in the world, along with their caddies, stopped to shake hands and thank the cadets for their service within the Navy JROTC program, but in a greater sense to pay tribute to the United States military.

Nease cadets Troy Barber, Heather Jett, Ryan Landeweer, Konnor Matthews, Will Moore and Erin Sass participated in the pin-tending ceremony following each grouping of golfers coming through the No. 18.

“It was wonderful to be thanked by all these golfers,” junior cadet Heather Jett said. “All the golfer and especially the international golfers really took their time to say thank you as they were coming off the 18th green.”

Nease cadets have tended the pin at this AJGA event at TPC every year since 2014.
