Thank a Police Officer Day will be observed this Saturday, Sept. 15, and on behalf of the Recorder, I would like to express our gratitude to our local deputies and law enforcement personnel for their service to the community.
We know your jobs aren’t easy, and we cannot pretend to understand the sacrifices you make to protect the public and maintain order. We can, however, acknowledge your dedication and hard work and encourage others to do the same. As a result, I encourage everyone reading this message to say hello to a deputy or other law enforcement employee if you see one on Saturday, or any day really, and thank them for what they do. (This message doesn’t just apply to police officers; all local first responders should be thanked for their service too!)
In recognition of our local law enforcement, here is a list of the deputies and other law enforcement personnel serving in the Northeast District for the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office, which includes Ponte Vedra and its surrounding communities. The district is led by Commander Brian Harrington, who has been nothing but helpful, polite and patient with me in my time as editor. The same is true with everyone on his team I’ve interacted with so far. Thank you, all!
