It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Margaret "Joyce" Nordberg, a cherished mother, grandmother, and a resilient spirit who touched the lives of many. Joyce passed away on August 22, 2023, at the age of 93, in Jacksonville, Florida, far from her birthplace in Conception Bay South River, Newfoundland.

Born on December 8, 1929, to proud parents Henry and Wealthiness Ford, Joyce was raised in the picturesque surroundings of Conception Bay South River. She developed a profound love for the natural world and a deep-rooted connection to her family and heritage.

Joyce's life was forever enriched when she married Sidney D Nordberg. Together, they shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and cherished memories. Their love was the foundation of a happy home where they raised their three daughters, Valerie, Diane, and Kathleen, instilling in them the values of compassion and resilience.

Throughout her life, Joyce had an insatiable curiosity and passion for cooking and spending time with her family. She shared these interests with her family and friends, creating lasting bonds and joyful memories. Her love for cooking was infectious, and she inspired others to find joy in the simple pleasures of life.

In the Jacksonville community where she spent her later years, Joyce was known for her warmth and generosity. She dedicated herself to City Hall of Jacksonville Beach, making a significant and lasting impact. Her acts of kindness and selflessness were a beacon of hope for those in need.

Joyce leaves behind a loving family, including daughters: Valerie and Diane; grandchildren: Shawn, Jen, Emily, Andrew, Shae, Sidney, Stormi; sister: Brenda; and great grandchildren: Alexis, Benjamin, Sadie, Kalea, McKenzie, and Madison.

A memorial service to celebrate Joyce's remarkable life was held on September 6, 2023, 11 a.m., at Ponte Vedra Valley.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to charity or foundation in Joyce's name.

Margaret "Joyce" Nordberg's legacy of love, resilience, and community spirit will continue to inspire us all. May she find eternal peace.
