The Rotary Club of Ponte Vedra Beach presented check donations to three Jacksonville area nonprofit organizations last Thursday, June 7.

The first recipient was children’s organization Daniel Kids, which initially received $15,000 to support the purchase of a van. However, the club presented Daniel with an additional $8,200 that was raised by a push-up contest during the meeting.

K9s For Warriors and Volunteers in Medicine also received $3,000 check donations from the Rotary Club. K9s For Warriors CEO Rory Diamond attended the meeting to talk to the club about his nonprofit’s efforts in pairing service canines with military veterans suffering from Post-traumatic Stress Disability, traumatic brain injury and/or military sexual trauma as a result of military service post-9/11. Volunteers in Medicine CEO Mary-Pat Corrigan also attended, discussing the Jacksonville-based healthcare clinic that serves working, low-income and uninsured individuals and families.
