A grill master at LongHorn Steakhouse in Jacksonville Beach was recently recognized for grilling 1 million steaks over 25 years.

Jacksonville resident and LongHorn Steakhouse Grill Master Simeona “Simi” Tamaseu is among the elite class of grill masters celebrated as one of LongHorn Steakhouse’s “Grill Master Legends,” a special distinction bestowed upon only those who have achieved this accomplishment.

Every LongHorn Steakhouse restaurant has a team of certified grill masters who are specially trained on selecting the right steak cut, pairing with the appropriate seasoning blend and grilling to each guest’s taste. After serving as a grill master for 25 years, Tamaseu has grilled 1 million steaks, marking him as a true master of his craft.

To celebrate this achievement, Tamaseu was surprised by the restaurant team, family members and special guests, including Neptune Beach Mayor Elaine Brown and Neptune Beach Chief of Police Richard Pike. In addition to being recognized a “Grill Master Legend,” Tamaseu received a special gold chef coat, a $2,500 award and a visit from LongHorn Steakhouse President Todd Burrowes.
