The St. Johns County chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America held a Meet the Candidates event June 27 to allow the community to hear from those seeking election in District 4.

Taking place at the Coastal Oaks Clubhouse in Nocatee, the forum hosted County Commission candidates Dick Williams, Jeremiah Blocker, Nicholas “Mike” Dudynskay and John "Jack" Gorman; as well as School Board candidates Dr. Abigail Levrini, Denver Cook and Kelly Barrera, who currently holds the District 4 seat. Over 60 residents attended the event.

“We had a great turnout,” said Kelly Aguirrechu, the local chapter leader for Moms Demand Action Ponte Vedra. “I'm so happy that Moms Demand Action of St. Johns County (was) able to host all of the candidates and give them a forum to speak to the community.”

Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America is a nonpartisan, nonprofit group made up of mothers, fathers, grandparents, educators, gun owners and non-gun owners working to educate the community on gun safety and gun violence prevention.
