This month, two local authors – Ruth Coe Chambers, of Neptune Beach, and D.A. Field, of Ponte Vedra Beach – will hold individual book signings at The BookMark in Neptune Beach to promote their latest works.

The first signing will be held Thursday, Oct. 19 at 7 p.m., during which Chambers will sign copies of her new mystery novel, “House on the Forgotten Coast.” The story centers on 18-year-old Elise Foster and her parents, who move from their home town of Atlanta into a century-old house in the fishing village of Apalachicola, Florida. Seeking friendship in their new community, the family finds instead that the townspeople resent their intrusion, but this intrusion on the house’s privacy also provides a pathway for the past and present to merge—and for the truth behind an unsolved murder to finally be brought to light.

The second signing, featuring Field and his new thriller, “Blood Memory Society,” will take place Monday, Oct. 23 at 7 p.m. In his authorial debut, Field introduces the idea of genetic mutation causing inherited memories – “blood memory” – resulting in IQs never before seen in human history. From this biological transmission of memory, geniuses realize they can accelerate the pace of human progress. Tapped for his expertise in reproductive medicine, protagonist Dr. Will Dunbar finds himself in the crosshairs of national and international secrets, intrigue and conspiracy.

The BookMark is located at 220 First St. in Neptune Beach. For more information, call (904) 241-9026 or bkmark@bellsouth.net.
