Las Posadas returns to mission grounds

Organizers of the popular Las Posadas event are inviting area residents to the National Shrine of Our Lady of La Leche at Mission Nombre de Dios in St. Augustine for an unforgettable evening.

Visitors will see a live Nativity and savor the warmth of freshly baked cookies and rich hot cocoa amidst the glow of lanterns and the sounds of history coming to life.

The Historic Florida Militia will conduct a procession capturing the essence of “Las Posadas” (The Inns) in a celebration that transcends time.

This is not just an event. It’s a bilingual, family-friendly pilgrimage into the heart of Christmas, and it unfolds for one night only, rain or shine, from 3 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 16, at the National Shrine of Our Lady of La Leche, 101 San Marco Blvd.

Visitors are asked to consider a minimum donation of $5 per adult (12 and older). Online donations will be promptly acknowledged with a receipt.

Limited parking in the main lot is complementary with your event registration, but it is on a first-come, first-served basis — make sure to secure your place! Additional parking is available for a nominal charge.

To participate in Las Posadas, reservations are required. Book a spot by visiting missionandshrine.org.
