The Florida Forum Speaker Series, produced by The Women’s Board of Wolfson Children’s Hospital, will welcome veteran journalist Lara Logan on Wednesday, Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. at the Times-Union Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Jacksonville.

Named a CBS News chief foreign correspondent in 2006 and chief foreign affairs correspondent in 2008, Logan has made notable contributions to the “60 Minutes” news segment, such as her profile of Medal of Honor winner Salvatore Giunta, an interview with Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf after the assassination of Benazir Bhutto and other reports from Afghanistan highlighting the War on Terror.

In 2010, Logan’s report from the Afghan battlefield, “A Relentless Enemy,” earned her electronic journalism’s highest award, a DuPont – Columbia University Silver Baton. In 2011, while reporting on the revolution in Tahrir Square in Egypt, Logan was mobbed, beaten and sexually assaulted. She later broke her silence about the brutal attack to draw attention to the plight of men and women in war zones and the difficulty female journalists covering war zones encounter. Throughout her career, Logan has received numerous awards and recognitions for her work.

Series subscriptions for all three Forum speakers are now available for purchase. Logan will open the Forum on Oct. 17, followed by renowned actor, director, writer and producer Bryan Cranston on Jan. 28 and NFL Super Bowl champion and Hall of Famer Tony Dungy on March 27. Subscriptions begin at $225 each for general seating; $300 each for preferred seating; $850 for two reserved Bronze seating tickets; $2,125 for two reserved Silver seating tickets and invitations to the private receptions honoring the speakers; and $4,250 for four reserved Gold seating tickets with private reception invitations. Patrons under age 30 may purchase Young Subscribers tickets for $150 each.

Funds raised from The Florida Forum benefit Wolfson Children’s Hospital of Jacksonville. The series is presented by Wells Fargo, Florida Blue and Landstar and other supporters of The Women’s Board. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit https://womensboardwolfsonchildrenshospital.com.
