Jacksonville teens arrested for attempted car burglaries

Amaya White and Jasmine Mobley, 18, were arrested in St. Augustine for grand theft on Sunday, July 1, a report from the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office revealed.

According to the arrest report, White, Mobley and several associates allegedly stole a Chrysler Town and Country minivan from the Greenleaf subdivision. The report noted that White referred to the burglary as "car hopping."

Detectives obtained surveillance video showing the Jacksonville teens with the stolen vehicle at a gas station on Merrill Road and Townsend Boulevard. The women also attempted to use a stolen credit card before driving away, the Sheriff's office report said.
