Although she tried, not even Hurricane Irma was able to stop the 15th annual Ponte Vedra Auto Show from taking place last year in Nocatee.
Presented by Fields Auto Group and organized by the St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce, the event — which was postponed from its original date due to historically inclement weather — was held Sept. 24 at Nocatee Town Center and attracted roughly 3,500 attendees.
A total of 31 awards were up for grabs at last year’s show, and of the more than 150 classic and collectible cars featured at the event, it was the 1936 Chrysler C-9 Airflow Coupe owned by Mark Becker that took home the coveted award of “Wells Fargo Advisors Best in Show Classic”. Other winners of note included Rob Sewell’s 1997 Porsche Carrera S, which won the “Porsche For the Spirit of It!” award; Chris Baldwin’s 1969 Chevrolet Camaro, which received the “Most Outstanding Pony Car” award; and Richard Scharer’s 2017 Maserati Granturismo Sport Coupe, which drove off with the “Best Exotic” award.
