It is with a grateful heart and peaceful spirit that I share with you my decision, as your St. Johns County Tax Collector, to not seek reelection in 2024.
I am amazed and humbled that you have trusted me to serve you in this office since 1978. Elected in 1984, I have strived to be worthy of your faith and confidence, approaching each new day with a servant’s heart and a desire to do my utmost to improve our community in my capacity as an elected official.
My greatest joy has been developing a team that shares my passion for serving our neighbors. Over the past four decades, we have fostered a culture of service excellence, innovation and enthusiasm to serve you with friendliness, compassion and respect.
The shining star on my team is Assistant Tax Collector Jennifer Pomar Ravan. Her distinct style of leadership and vision for this office rests on a genuine bedrock of honesty, integrity and loyalty to the people of St. Johns County.
I am proud and honored to endorse and support Jennifer as my successor to be your next St. Johns County Tax Collector. Together, she and I have cultivated a reputation of customer service excellence renowned throughout the State of Florida, and I am certain her standards will not waver. I am confident that you, too, will appreciate the strides we have made together and will place your trust and faith in her as your next Tax Collector.
