Hastings area surveyed on community center, library design

St. Johns County is inviting the Hastings community to participate in a survey to offer their feedback on proposed exterior designs of the new Hastings Community Center and Library at www.sjcfl.us/Hastings by July 31. The survey can also be printed and submitted in person at the current Hastings Library, 6195 S. Main St.

An initial layout for the Hastings Community Center and Library is a 10,000 square-foot facility to feature a public meeting room with a capacity for approximately 100 people, a small conference room, a children’s and teens’ area, as well as public computers, internet/Wi-Fi access and reference services along with other amenities.

“We continue to listen and learn about the public’s needs,” Vice Chair and District 2 Commissioner Sarah S. Arnold said. “This survey is a continuation of that journey of design and decision points, specifically with the Hastings residents and business owners, to move this awesome community asset forward to construction. After our most recent public input meeting on June 29, I am excited to further community engagement by offering them this opportunity to participate in a survey. We will announce the details of an additional public input meeting after we compile the survey results.”
