Harlem Legends to play St. Johns County All Stars Sept. 29 in Ponte Vedra Beach

On Saturday, Sept. 29, fans of all ages will be treated to an evening of basketball entertainment when the Harlem Legends Basketball Entertainers take on the St. Johns County All Stars at Ponte Vedra High School (PVHS).

The Harlem Legends are led by former Harlem Globetrotter Michael Douglas, who has traveled to over 100 countries entertaining crowds. The team consists of various professional athletes, including former players of the Harlem Globetrotters, NBA and NFL, as well as former Olympians and other athletes. Along with Douglas, the Legends who will participate are Larry “Shorty” Coleman, Tyrone” Hollywood” Brown, Trey Moore, DJ Henley, Antron Pippen, Antoin Jones, Elbert “Tree” Gordon, Tyrone Randolph, Robert Wilson, announcer Mike Glenn and referee Jimmy Bolden.

The St. Johns County All Stars will include PVHS Principal Fred Oberkehr, PVHS Athletic Director Eric Frank, St. Augustine High School Assistant Principal Travis Brown, Corey Yates of Stellar Concepts, Phil Tensley, Antwoin Conerly and Paul Stallings of the YMCA, Kasey Yates of Frito Lay, Edward Houston of St. Johns County Fire Rescue and others.

There will be a basketball clinic beginning at 3 p.m. and a VIP Meet & Greet at 4 p.m. The game begins at 5 p.m. General Admission is $15, VIP tickets are $25 and the basketball clinic costs $25, including a show ticket. Youth ages 7-14 may register for the basketball clinic at www.harlemlegends.com.

Tickets are available at the Ponte Vedra YMCA, Ponte Vedra High School Athletic Department or through all of the St. Johns County All Stars and on the Harlem Legends website. A portion of the proceeds from this event will benefit the Ponte Vedra High School Athletic Department, Ponte Vedra YMCA and the Michael Douglas Youth Foundation, which helps bring awareness to the importance of incorporating exercise in daily life.
