Grand Living at Tamaya coming to Jacksonville in April 2019

Grand Living will open its newest senior living community, Grand Living at Tamaya in Jacksonville, in April 2019.

Located just off Beach Boulevard and Kernan Boulevard South, Grand Living offers resort-style living with a mix of independent, assisted living and memory care apartments, ranging in size from studio up to two-bedroom with a den. Residents will enjoy multiple dining venues, including the Bistro, Café Tamaya, La Vida Dining and Privato.

“At most senior communities, you have one dining room where you eat two or three meals a day, seven days a week,” Grand Living President and CEO Dan Peterka said. “At Grand Living, we have multiple dining venues. Every day and for every meal, residents may select where they would like to dine, choosing from casual to more formal dining venues.”

It’s only possible to give residents this much choice because “everything is made from scratch,” Peterka said. Every meal is cooked to order, just like in a restaurant.

“Much of it is open cooking in front of you, where the residents enjoy seeing the chefs prepare their food,” Peterka said.

The culinary team will create a variety of old favorites as well as new and innovative menu items, and can assist with special requests, including dining restrictions.

Special amenities at Grand Living at Tamaya will include The Forum Performance Theater, providing theatrical, musical, recital and lifelong learning programs on a regular basis; a fitness center with a full-time fitness coordinator and an outdoor, heated pool and hot tub; a full-service spa and salon; and an array of common areas including a library, Grand Lounge, Legends Club, a pet spa and a fire pit.

The staff at Grand Living works hard to create a complete culture of well-being. The community’s approach is based on the dimensions of well-being, embracing all the facets of life. Their trademarked FacetsTM program addresses five main areas: social, health and wellness, lifelong learning, legacy and spirituality.

At Grand Living, residents and guests also experience The Sterling Touch®, a unique approach to customer service created in concert with former executives of the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company. It incorporates the company’s vision, foundations and principles, and guides residents’ everyday experience in the community.

“We are driven by our passion to provide remarkable personalized experiences for the residents and their families and by our unparalleled commitment to exceptional service,” Peterka said. “We are proud to be a part of the Jacksonville community and look forward to showcasing our extraordinary environment and remarkable programs and services.”

Grand Living at Tamaya features 171 studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom residences. A variety of floor plans are available, some featuring a den, others with a terrace or patio and some with a fireplace. Each apartment features an open floor plan, a spacious bathroom, stainless steel appliances, a center island, granite countertops, walk-in closets and a washer and dryer. Apartments are rented on a month-to-month basis. Monthly rent includes dining; all utilities, including telephone, expanded cable, and WiFi; weekly housekeeping; transportation; maintenance; and an array of activities.
