Gary S. Jurenovich letter to the editor

The Municipal Service District of Ponte Vedra Beach (MSD) will be holding its regularly scheduled monthly meeting this Monday, Aug. 13 at 6 p.m. at the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library.

This will be our 429th meeting, and we will have yet another full agenda. As many of our MSD residents already know, your Board of Trustees meets every month to maintain the safety and beauty of the MSD. With so many new and beautiful houses being built, however, I figured I would send a letter to encourage all to attend a meeting. It is your MSD and the trustees who work hard for the benefit of everyone.

This month, we will have a presentation from St Johns County engineers discussing drainage improvements on Ponte Vedra Boulevard. We will hear discussion from a director with the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office regarding Amendment 10 and its possible effect on our county, and we will have a presentation from MSD residents regarding our lovely trees. We will also be discussing the MSD budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2018-2019 and be holding a forum for candidates running for MSD Seat 1 with the upcoming elections on Aug. 28. We will be discussing beach preservation, parking on Ponte Vedra Boulevard and the usual monthly reports from each of your seven MSD trustees.

This is just an example of what goes on each month at the MSD meeting, which is always held on the second Monday of every month at 6 p.m. at the library. I want to invite all MSD residents to attend and get to know your trustees so that we can also get to know you. Together we will continue to keep the MSD a special place to call home. See you Monday night!
