Free business continuity workshops set for Aug. 20

Two free business continuity workshops are scheduled for Monday, Aug. 20 at the St. Johns County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) from 9 to 11 a.m. and from 3 to 5 p.m. The EOC is located at 100 EOC Drive near the outlet shopping centers.

The workshops — which will present information for businesses to prepare for sustainability before, during and after an emergency — have stemmed from collaboration between the St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce, St. Johns County Government, Northeast Florida Regional Council and the International Economic Development Council (IEDC).

“While we hope that our community will be spared the impact of a major hurricane in 2018, we know that businesses that have a viable plan are more sustainable after an emergency,” explained Isabelle Renault, president and CEO of the St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce. “We appreciate that this valuable training is being provided to our county. It is timely due to the historic timing of hurricanes in September, but we have been reminded this year that emergencies can run the gamut from cyberattacks to weather-related emergencies.”

All businesses can RSVP for the workshops by emailing bethany.taylor@sjcchamber.com or calling (904) 829-5681.
