The new branch opens on Sept. 4 and is located at 3780 US Highway 1 South, in St. Augustine. Dr. Rajesh Shetty, CEO of Florida Eye Specialists, said his team is excited to bring the latest in glaucoma treatment to the St. Augustine community through the capable hands of the practice’s newest ophthalmologist, Dr. Kenzo J. Koike.

“At Florida Eye Specialists, we are committed to ensuring all our patients receive the highest standard of care in our field,” Dr. Shetty said. “We are thrilled to have Dr. Koike aboard as we expand our reach and continue providing cutting-edge eye care in North Florida.”

Koike is a fellowship-trained ophthalmologist who specializes in complex cataract and glaucoma treatment, including minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS).

Koike earned his medical degree at the University of South Florida and completed his ophthalmology residency at the Storm Eye Institute at the Medical University of South Carolina, where he served as chief resident. He went on to complete a prestigious glaucoma fellowship at the Cullen Eye Institute at Baylor College of Medicine.
