Hundreds of St. Johns County residents and other visitors gathered in Downtown St. Augustine Nov. 18 for Light Up! Night, the ceremony that commences Nights of Lights in the Ancient City.
Soon before 7 p.m., the decorative lights switched on, as well as the Christmas tree at the Plaza de la Constitución, transforming St. Augustine into a holiday masterpiece once again. Visitors at the event enjoyed live music and other performances leading up to and after the ceremony.
Nights of Lights was named one of the 10 best holiday lighting displays in the world by National Geographic in recent years. The holiday tradition will continue through Jan. 31.
