Family delivers holiday joy to community home residents

Each year, the Alberico family honors family member Michael Alberico's memory by partnering with a local nonprofit and raising funds and gift donations for those in need. This year, the Albericos selected The Arc Jacksonville, an organization serving adults with intellectual and developmental differences (IDD), to continue Michael's ‘Ohana legacy.

The Alberico family announced their "Adopt a House this Holiday Season" campaign in August and on Dec. 21 delivered hundreds of holiday gifts and more than $1,400 in monetary donations, bringing holiday cheer to the 44 residents at The Arc Jacksonville's five community homes spread out throughout Jacksonville.

“We are excited to partner with The Arc Jacksonville this year and provide personal gifts to their community home residents,” said Jennifer Capri, Michael's sister. “As part of the IDD community, we felt Michael would be proud to give back to others that may not have the same level of family support. The Arc Jacksonville is a great organization to partner with and honor Michael's memory. We are so grateful to make their holidays a little brighter."

"We were thrilled when the Alberico family reached out to us this summer and selected our community homes,” said Janet Wesley, vice president, development at The Arc Jacksonville. “Our residents will be so excited to receive such an abundance of gifts and know that so many people in our community care."
