Domestic violence awareness walk is March 30

Hubbard House will hold its 15th Annual Stand Up & Stride Domestic Violence Awareness Walk from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 30. The walk begins at 9 a.m at 330 E. Bay St., Jacksonville, the former Duval County Courthouse.

The free, family-friendly walk continues the community’s longstanding tradition of showing survivors they are not alone, celebrating the strength of survivors and demonstrating hope through Hubbard House’s life-saving, life-changing services.

The new Impact Zone at the walk features an interactive visual display to honor each survivor and child helped by Hubbard House last year — 4,828 people in total. In its 47 years of operation, Hubbard House has served more than 155,000 survivors and children.

A family fun zone will be onsite with games, prizes, balloons and face painting. DJ Jim West of West Productions will offer music.

A pre-walk warm-up class will be offered by Studio Jear, and the Jacksonville Pipes and Drums will lead the start of the walk.

A route map for the walk is available at hubbardhousewalk.com.

While the event is free to attend, there are incentives for fundraising.

  • Raise/donate $60 and get a free event T-shirt (while supplies last).
  • Raise/donate $250 and be entered in a drawing for prizes, including a gift card to River & Post, a one-hour massage at The Wellness Hub, a family four-pack to the Jacksonville Zoo & Gardens, and more.
  • Top fundraising teams and individuals will be recognized on stage before the start of the walk.

There is still time to register to attend, form a team and donate at hubbardhousewalk.com.
