The Bolles Lower School Ponte Vedra Beach Campus held its third annual International Festival on Oct. 11, with 12 families offering presentations about 10 countries, cultures and international experiences.

The day began with a globally focused opening ceremony in George Hall, which included the introduction of the students and parents who would be sharing their cultures. Grade five students also sang the traditional Spanish language folk song “De Colores,” led by lower school language teacher Linda Farber, and the entire student body enjoyed a colorful performance by dancers from the Venezuela Marka Foundation.

Then, the students began 20-minutes rotations through campus classrooms, visiting the parent cultural presenters who shared demonstrations with students throughout the rest of the morning.

International Festival presenters and the countries/cultures they represented included: the Zuluaga family, Mexico; the Barakat family, Egypt; the Prado/Iuliano families, Italy; the Kalinski family, Ukraine; the Kahanda family, Sri Lanka; the Singh family, Germany; the Johnson family, Chile; the Jenkins family, Louisiana; the Lebow family, Hungary; the Zucconi family, Italy; and the Gruenbaum family, Israel.
