City of Jacksonville Beach and Deck the Chairs win big at annual SUNsational Awards

FFEA recognizes state’s best events, festivals from 2017 at ceremony

The Florida Festivals & Events Association (FFEA) recently announced the winners of its annual SUNsational Awards during its 24th annual convention and tradeshow in Orlando, and the City of Jacksonville Beach took home several honors for its annual Deck the Chairs event.

The program recognized members’ innovation, individuality and creative collaboration. Nominations were accepted in nine categories, including printed materials; outdoor advertisement; PR/ media campaign; photo; promotional item; T-shirt; broadcast media; multimedia marketing and programming. Each category included three budget levels. A total of 140 events submitted materials for consideration.

The following were awarded in Northeast Florida:

City of Jacksonville Beach, in partnership with Deck The Chairs: first-place event recap/annual report; first-place promotional item, first-place sponsor partnership; second-place community outreach program and second-place outdoor ad: installations

Clay County Agricultural Fair: first-place community outreach; first-place radio ad; first-place television ad; second-place educational program; second-place Instagram; third-place promotional mailer; third-place social media campaign

Town of Orange Park – second-place website

Nominations were judged by a blue-ribbon panel representing media outlets, printing companies, website designers, photographers, promotional marketing professionals and social media experts.
